Everglade Embroidered Cushion, £78, Anthropologie
I just can’t spend £78 on a cushion. I can’t. I can spend £78 on a top that’s dry clean only, gets worn once and then lives in the dry cleaning pile for the next two years but I can’t spend that much on a cushion that in (very abstract) theory I could make myself. Especially when there’s a darn tea towel in the same shop with exactly the same print on it that costs a tiny, tiny fraction of the price. Yes, I could have made that tea towel into a cushion but my sewing skills are shonky to say the least, so, I did the next best thing and framed it! It looks so cute on our chest of drawers and will move into the baby’s room when he finally gets his own room in five or six years time… when we’ve actually built one… or finally moved into a flat big enough for us all… Not complaining. Much.

The tea towel which cost £14! Annoyingly this has sold out on line but there are lots of other tea towels about that are worthy of an Ikea frame.
Hold up! It’s back in stock! Tea towel, £14, Anthropologie
