Tuscany in Autumn

Owing to a rather special delivery, we didn’t manage to get a family holiday this summer (apart from a deranged four day camping trip in Dorset with a newborn and that really doesn’t count and in fact could be considered as a minus holiday) so when a good friend (a REALLY good friend) invited us to spend a week chilling out in a Tuscan farmhouse together for the October half term we couldn’t say no. At first I thought it would be a bit cold and damp and couldn’t ever be as nice as Tuscany in the sun but i was wrong. There was a lot more sunshine than we expected and watching the olives being harvested, log fires, food markets and Bailey’s Mini Magnums dipped in tea made this the perfect break. I would definitely recommend an Autumnal Tuscan getaway. Cheaper than summer, no tourists, no queues in Florence and spectacular changing of the season views. Take me back!

NB. The best thing we packed was our baby bouncer chair. Couldn’t have done without it!
