I’ve just got back from an idyllic week in Carbis Bay, Cornwall. I would thoroughly recommend it as a kid friendly holiday spot. My in-laws rented a fantastic house that is ten minutes walk from the beach and had everything we needed to keep hoards of kids entertained. The beach is the soft and sandy kind, the sea is turquoise, the ice creams are excellent and there is a grand old hotel that sells crab sandwiches and cream teas if you want an upgrade from your tupperware. It is also within walking distance of St Ives where you can eat at the award winning Porthminster cafe on the beach, visit the Tate and graze the knick-knack shops. Granny’s art classes aren’t included in the package I’m afraid but she could be tempted by a glass of Hoegaarden and an egg mayo bap.
