NICE HOUSE No.2

Still full of cheese? ( The cheese cliché is a cliché for a reason) Finding it hard to navigate your way down the stairs, let alone onto public transport? KNOW THE FEELING. Why not sit back with a cuppa and enjoy a mooch through this gorgeous home, owned by Fashion Editor, interiors stylist and the all-round creatively gifted Charlotte Melling? I first met Charlotte backstage at an Orla Kiely fashion show (Oh Orla! Still gutted about her label folding) and the moment I saw her emerald green tights and patent t-bar shoes, I knew I had to say hello! Charlotte’s London home is just as stylish and eclectic as her wardrobe and I will definitely be tapping her for advice when I finally find my own home to decorate. Packed to the rafters with original features and gorgeous styling ideas, this Edwardian house will inspire you to get up off the sofa and plan that gallery wall you’ve always had in mind or to at least look at those frames you’ve had resting against the wall since 2004. Steady now, don’t trip over that jar of Piccalilli…

You can follow Charlotte @charlottemelling where she is currently enjoying country life and for more photographs of this lovely home, head to the original feature at  Apartment Therapy

Do come in!

Love this Top Hat ceiling pendant.

The AGA that you can just see from the hallway.

Cannot believe how vibrant these original tiles are. The Edwardians were quite jaunty!

Charlotte on her vintage sofa.

The ceiling details. SIGH.

Girls Girls Girls hovering over the cocktail bar.

A huge linen sofa in a gorgeous shade of lilac.

Another incredible fireplace.

The master bedroom.
The sumptuous bathroom ( to be read in Lloyd Grossman’s voice obvs)
